What to include when you write
A chemical enquiry is easy to answer badly. “How much is caustic soda?” has about six answers depending on grade, form, pack and destination. Two extra lines in your first email usually save two days of back and forth.
Include if you can
- Product name and CAS number
- Grade — technical, food, electronic or pharmacopoeial
- Quantity for this order, and roughly per year
- Pack size that suits your site and handling
- Delivery city or port
- The date you need it on site

- Your incoming specification or QC limits
- A COA from the material you currently use
- The SDS of a product you are trying to replace
