Get a delivered price, not a starting point
Catalogue prices cover packs up to a drum or a bulk bag. Above that, and for anything shipped across a border, we quote the specific consignment: product, grade, packing, Incoterm, lead time and price.
Before you send it
Six things that turn an enquiry into a quote
An enquiry with these six answered comes back same day. One without them turns into three emails of questions first.
- Product and grade
Name and, if you have it, the CAS number. Say which grade you need — technical, food, electronic or pharmacopoeial. If you only know the application, describe that instead and we will propose the grade.
- Specification you have to meet
The one or two parameters that actually decide acceptance: minimum assay, maximum moisture, particle size, a heavy metals limit. If your incoming spec is tighter than our standard grade, this is the line that changes the quote.
- Quantity and frequency
Both the immediate order and the expected annual volume. A one-off tonne and a tonne a month price differently, because the second can be scheduled against a production run.
- Packing
Drums, bags, IBCs, bulk bags, or a specific pallet configuration. If your site has a handling limit — no forklift, a 25 kg manual lifting rule, a doorway that will not take a pallet — say so now.
- Destination and Incoterm
Port or delivery address, and whether you want FOB, CIF or a delivered price. If you are unsure which, tell us the address and we will quote both.
- Timing
The date you need it on site, not the date you would like to order. Lead time is where most bulk chemical plans come unstuck, and it is easier to solve at quotation.
Incoterms
What you are actually being quoted
Two quotes for the same product can differ by a third and both be correct, because they cover different parts of the journey. These are the three we use.
| Term | We pay for | You pay for | Risk transfers |
|---|---|---|---|
| EXW | The goods, packed and ready | Collection, export clearance, freight, insurance, duty, delivery | At our loading point |
| FOB | Goods, packing, inland haulage, export clearance, loading onto the vessel | Sea freight, insurance, duty, import clearance, delivery | When the goods are loaded on board |
| CIF | Everything to FOB, plus sea freight and marine insurance to your named port | Import clearance, duty, port charges, delivery from port | When the goods are loaded on board |
Under CIF the goods reach your port, not your gate. Import duty, VAT, port handling and final delivery are still yours. If you want a true door price, ask for it and we will quote the whole chain.
Lead times
Realistic timings by order type
| Order type | Typical lead time | What drives it |
|---|---|---|
| Stocked line, local delivery | 2–5 working days | Picking and carrier collection. Dangerous goods may add a day for booking. |
| Stocked line, export | 2–4 weeks | Export documentation and the sailing schedule, not the picking. |
| Production run | 3–6 weeks | The plant’s campaign schedule. Some lines run monthly, others quarterly. |
| Custom specification | 4–10 weeks | Trial batch, analysis, your approval, then the full run. |
| Regulated or permit-controlled | Add 2–6 weeks | Import permit issuance in your country. Start this before you order. |
Every quotation carries its own lead time against the specific consignment. Treat the table as planning guidance and the quotation as the commitment.
